Courtney W. Wilson

RN, FNPc

Courtney W. Wilson is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner who has been in the Wilmington area since 2000. In her 20th year of practice, she has developed a following of patients who like her approach to health focused on individualized care and preventive medicine. She founded Consults in Wellness, PLLC in July of 2011. Her education includes a Bachelor's of Science in Biology and Chemistry from UNC Chapel Hill (1993), Master of Arts in Health Education from ECU (1995) and Masters of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University (1997). She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a family nurse practitioner and is a certified health coach.

Her practice currently focuses on a preventive medicine, health coaching and 6 month health programs. She uses nutritional, hormonal, complementary and traditional therapies to address the whole patient. She works to identify and treat the causes, rather than treating the symptoms. Areas of interest include optimizing hormone and thyroid health, digestive health; stress management, decreasing inflammation that leads to disease and improving brain/neurologic function. Her passion for her work is fueled by patients who helped her learn that wellness, preventing disease and feeling your best cannot often be achieved by traditional measures alone.

Beginning in 2013, Courtney began incorporating coaching techniques into her practice. These techniques based on neuro-linguistic programming help clients who are having difficulty incorporating lifestyle changes into their daily life or are unable to move into action. Instead of relying on medical advice alone to change health status, coaching encourages clients to dig deeper. These techniques help any client clients who are chronically ill, frequently sick or just feeling drained, overwhelmed or stuck to move forward into action and healing.

Clients rely on spiritual foundations, intuition, emotional strength and mindset transformation to feel grounded and powerful in their actions so they can move to optimal health and healing. Using 6 month health intensives, she combines the best of integrative medicine with coaching techniques for clients to experience major health transformation. She has been recognized for achievements in the community and is active at Wrightsville United Methodist Church.

Courtney's current passion is being a mother and she is actively involved in the life of her son.  She is married, and enjoys the beach, water activities and time with family. A foundational practice for life, health and spirit includes yoga and qi gong for meditation.

Consults in Wellness is refreshing. Keep up the good work! You are changing people's health and mine. I can't thank you enough for finally pointing out that I have pre-diabetes. It was on my labs for years and never discussed.
